G7 Gender Equality Ministers and Civil Society Dialogue

As a follow-up to the G7 Ministerial Meeting on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment in Nikko on 24th and 25th June 2023, the W7 Japan would like to create a space for dialogue between the G7 Ministers on Gender Equality or their Representatives and the Civil Society, on gender equality, women’s leadership and human rights.
This will cover issues such as care economy, eradication of violence and bodily autonomy, digital world, LGBTQI+ and accountability.
The purpose of this Dialogue is to discuss the outcomes of the Gender Equality Ministers’ Meeting with Civil Society, and to carry the momentum to the next G7 Presidency – Italy.
The meeting will be opened by remarks of the Japan State Minister on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, Mr. Masanobu Ogura, and the EU Commissioner for Equality, Ms Helena Dalli, followed by speeches by other G7 Ministers/representatives, and civil society representatives.
